After spending last season on loan at SuperSport United, a new chapter appears to be unfolding for a Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder.
An insider with connections across KwaZulu-Natal football circles has indicated that a newly promoted club is believed to be interested in Sundowns midfielder Lebohang Maboe.

The football insider added that after spending the second half of last season at SuperSport United, Maboe is now set to be reunited with his former employers Durban City, who were previously known as Maritzburg United.
"Durban City are believed to have listed him as one of the experienced players that they are looking at. They know him from when they were Maritzburg United and he also knows the team and that's why they believe it could be a good signing," the source told Soccer Laduma.
A Chloorkop insider with insight into the club's squad planning stated that Maboe is most probably not in Sundowns' plans for next season though he still has a year remaining on his contract.
"If he leaves in this window period Sundowns would be looking at either selling him or loaning him out as he still has a contract until June 2026. But apparently he is not in the technical team's plans for next season and that could be his ticket out of Sundowns at the moment (if he wanted to leave)," the second source told the Siya crew.

The 30-year-old featured in many games while on loan at SuperSport United last season, helping them avoid relegation along the way.
Soccer Laduma contacted Durban City for comment but there was no response at the time of publishing this story.
The potential move would represent a homecoming of sorts for Maboe, who enjoyed some of his best football at the Team of Choice before his high-profile move to Sundowns in 2018. For the newly-promoted Durban City, acquiring a player with Maboe's experience and familiarity with the club could prove invaluable as they prepare for life in the top flight.
