Swallows CEO Sipho Xulu has denied fresh allegations emanating from inside the club that one of the technical team members has been suspended!
The Siya crew was informed late last night that goalkeeper coach Johan Abselon had been asked not to come to work following the club's 1-0 defeat at home against TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership on Saturday.
Abselon made a shock return to the Dube Birds dugout in December despite being sacked alongside then head coach Brandon Truter and assistant Simo Dladla in a shake-up of the Swallows bench because of a run of poor results in the first half of the season.
But things haven't really improved, with incoming coach Dylan Kerr only winning two games out of eight since taking over the reins.
Dladla has also since been rehired to oversee the club's youth academy.
Abselon's surprise return to Swallows was initially questioned, but it appeared as though the goalie coach and Kerr had a good working relationship.
Has that changed?
"No, there's no such," Xulu said when contacted by the Siya crew.
"We are denying this. There's never been any sitting where he (Abselon) was suspended. I don't know who came up with that. If a person is not at work, it doesn't mean he is suspended – he is still part of the club and is not suspended. That is the answer from the club."
The CEO insisted that Abselon has been at work since the start of the week, even though the Siya crew has it on good authority that he was not.
"I don't think he hasn't ever been at work. Whoever says he wasn't at work…he was at work yesterday. Did that person tell you that he was at work yesterday? And he will be at work tomorrow, people must stop jumping into conclusions and giving you wrong information. The position from the club is that the goalkeeper coach is still part of the club."
Kerr recently celebrated winning the inagural DStv Compact Cup.
