Fresh off guiding Gaborone United to a triumphant Botswana Premier League title, coach Dimitar Pantev is now being strongly linked with a potential move to the PSL.
Pantev’s representatives are actively working behind the scenes to secure him an opportunity in the PSL, with several clubs currently assessing their technical teams amid a wave of coaching changes across the top flight.

A source close to the situation confirmed the development, saying, “Dimitar Pantev has just won the league in Botswana, and his representatives are still keen on getting him opportunities in the PSL. He’s proven himself in Botswana and is ready for the next challenge.”
The Bulgarian coach ended the season in style on Saturday, when Gaborone United claimed a 2-0 win over arch-rivals Township Rollers at the National Stadium.
Thatayaone Kgamanyane struck twice in the first half to seal the result, which capped off a dominant campaign that saw United lift the inaugural FNB Premier League title.
While remaining tight-lipped about his future, Pantev did mention that the club would need “three or four experienced players” to bolster the squad for the upcoming season, particularly to guide the younger talent in the team.

His immediate future, however, may lie beyond Botswana’s borders. With several PSL clubs understood to be parting ways with their coaches or undergoing restructuring, Pantev has emerged as a possible candidate in the coaching market.
His reputation for tactical discipline, man-management, and title-winning pedigree is likely to appeal to clubs seeking fresh leadership.
