Wydad Athletic Club have reportedly made a new decision regarding their South African duo of Cassius Mailula and Thembinkosi Lorch.

This past season, the Moroccan giants brought in the services of two Bafana Bafana representatives — first signing Mailula before the start of the campaign, and then adding Lorch during the mid-season transfer window.
While these attackers were initially brought in by Rulani Mokwena, who has since left the record Moroccan champions, due to his previous work with both players at Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates respectively, they have since earned the plaudits of new Wydad boss Mohamed Amine Benhachem.
It seems the Moroccan tactician is a strong admirer of the pair. Although there had been rumours suggesting the club’s intention was to retain them solely for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, Le360Sport now reports that Wydad want to keep both players for the 2025/26 season as well.
The same report claims this decision was made at the special request of the new coach, who wishes to maintain continuity as he builds towards the global spectacle in North America.

It is understood that Wydad president Hicham Ait Menna has already opened dialogue with the two players in an attempt to sign them for another season.
