Reports coming out of Scotland suggest that Scottish giants Rangers FC have made a decision on South African midfielder Bongani Zungu.
Zungu, 28, joined the Scottish league champions on a transfer deadline day loan deal from French Ligue 2 outfit, Amiens.
Despite arriving to much fanfare, Zungu failed to establish himself as one of the regulars in Steven Gerrard's side, who have swept aside all comers in Scotland this season.
Zungu also found himself on the wrong side of the law in February after being found guilty of breaching COVID-19 protocols by attending a party, which led to him being handed a six-match ban by the Scottish FA.
Gerrard was frank when asked if the incident decreased the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder's chances of securing a permanent move to Ibrox next season. "I think that would be fair to say, yes," the Liverpool legend said to the Scottish media.
Now, with less than a month left to run on his Rangers loan deal, DailyRecord reported that Zungu's Amiens coach Oswald Tanchot confirmed Zungu will return to France next season, where he will campaign in the French second division,
"For next season, we won't have the services of loan players Molla Wague and Racine Coly who will return to their parent club.
"But we will have Bongani Zungu back, who has a year left of his contract with us," he told French media
