Official: Pitso & Al Wahda Announce Decision

Pitso Mosimane is available on the market again after parting ways with Al Wahda, the United Arab Emirates Pro League side has confirmed.

It was revealed by Soccer Laduma on Thursday that the decorated coach was set to leave Al Wahda after barely four months with the club.

The multiple-CAF Champions League winner has now officially left Al Wahda as confirmed in a statement on the club's official Twitter account.

"Al Wahda Football Club Company announces that it has reached an agreement with South African technical director Pitso Mosimane to terminate the contract by mutual consent between the two parties. The management of Al Wahda Football Club Company decided to appoint Mr. Arno Buitenweg as coach of the first team during the coming period, wishing him success [Translated]," read the statement.

While a decision will be expected on the next move for the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana tactician, he has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs and Egyptian giants Zamalek, among other clubs.

Meanwhile, MT Sports has since released a statement which confirms the news and discusses Mosimane's exit from Al Wahda.

"MT Sports Marketing and Management can confirm that coach Pitso Mosimane and his technical team have parted ways with Al Wahda Football Club, with immediate effect," wrote MT Sports.

"Coach Pitso Mosimane and his technical team joined Al Wahda Football Club in June 2023, taking charge of the UAE Pro League squad.

"The South African-led technical team guided Al Wahda Football Club to the Arab Club Champions Cup quarter- final stage in August 2023, which they played away in Saudi Arabia.

"Al Wahda Football Club currently sits in 5th position on the log, five points behind the league leaders.

"Furthermore, Al Wahda Football Club remains a contender for the ADIB Cup after eliminating Emirates F.C. 8-0 in their last cup fixture.

"Coach Pitso Mosimane would like to thank Al Wahda Football Club, the Board, players, staff, and supporters for their warm welcome and support, since joining the club earlier this year, and wishes them well for the remainder of the season and future endeavours."
