The Bafana Bafana international has been a revelation for the Romanian juggernauts since arriving in 2023. The Sebokeng native has been an ever-present under Elias Charalambous since joining the Bucharest-based outfit, and this past weekend, Ngezana secured his second successive Romanian SuperLiga title.
FCSB paid €600 000 (R12.1 million) to Kaizer Chiefs for the central defender’s services, and while they will likely make a profit should they choose to sell, there was scepticism surrounding his arrival due to the fact he had only ever played in South Africa's top flight.
The club have been linked with a plethora of players ahead of the upcoming off-season, but with most of them plying their trade in the Romanian top tier, FCSB and its president, Gigi Becali, are able to scout their targets closely.
However, after the success of signing Ngezana directly from South Africa, Becali was recently asked whether he would consider bringing in more players who are unproven in Europe.

The 68-year-old football chief said, as per Prima Sport:
“They only take players from the domestic market. Or let Meme (Mihai Stoica) do what he did with Ngezana.
I said to him: ‘Well, do you guarantee?’ ‘I guarantee.’ He never guarantees — I've been working with him for 20 years. If he guarantees, I take him on the spot, I don't look at him anymore.”
