Soccer Laduma had previously reported that there was concrete interest from clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia in the 25-year-old.
There was reported interest in Mokwana from newly-promoted Saudi Pro League side Al Hazem, while Russian club Dynamo Makhachkala were also pursuing the forward.
Mokwana's been an astute signing for the Red and Yellow since he joined the team from Sekhukhune United ahead of the 2024/25 season. The South African netted seven goals and grabbed four assists in 33 games in all competitions last season, according to Transfermarkt.
While Esperance's president Hamdi Meddeb reportedly expressed interest in keeping the South African, the club revealed an offer for Mokwana was rejected, Assarih Online reported.
The publication reported that Esperance had rejected an offer of €800,000 (R16 million) for the Mpumalanga-born attacker. There are further reports that the Taraji rejected the deal from a technical aspect, not a financial one.
