Barbosa’s move to Chloorkop is yet another signal of Sundowns’ commitment to staying ahead in the modern game.
A UEFA A-licensed coach, the 28-year-old boasts an impressive resume, having served in various technical roles across some of Portugal’s respected clubs.
His recent stints include working as an assistant coach with Vitoria Sport Clube and SC Braga, as well as developing young talent as a youth coach with Leixoes SC.
Joining the Brazilians in August 2025, Barbosa brings a data-driven approach and European experience that could give Sundowns a fresh tactical edge.
His ability to bridge coaching insight with performance analytics makes him a valuable asset as the club looks to maintain its dominance in the Betway Premiership and compete on the continental stage.
