Orlando Pirates could soon welcome back Nigerian defender Olisa Ndah as they prepare for possible changes at the back following a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday.
The Soweto giants were dealt a significant blow late in the match at Orlando Stadium when Nkosinathi Sibisi received his marching orders in the 85th minute after a second bookable offence.

Sibisi, affectionately known as Bhodlela, had been partnering promising youngster Mbekezeli Mbokazi in the heart of defence.
With Sibisi now suspended, coach Jose Riveiro may have to turn to Tapelo Xoki – one of the club’s experienced centre-backs – to step in alongside Mbokazi in the coming fixtures. However, the big news from the Buccaneers’ camp is that Ndah is edging closer to full fitness after a frustrating injury layoff.
Ndah had been sidelined earlier in the season due to a tibia fracture. Just as he was regaining fitness and returning to full training, he suffered a setback during a friendly match. Last month, the club confirmed the re-injury on their official website.
Fortunately for Pirates, sources close to the club have indicated that the second injury was not as severe as the initial one, and Ndah’s recovery is progressing well.

“The second injury wasn’t as bad as the first one and it isn’t likely to keep him out for long. There is hope that he will be back soon. He’s made progress,” said the source.
While it's unclear whether Ndah will be fit in time for the next few fixtures, the signs are positive that he could return to the matchday squad before the season concludes – a timely boost for a Pirates defence that has had to navigate multiple personnel changes in this campaign.
