Magents: Bucs Need Bite, Not Bootings

While whispers of a release swirl around Bienvenu Eva Nga and Souaibou Marou, Orlando Pirates legend Edward "Magents" Motale sings a different tune.

The 1995 CAF Champions League hero, in a Soccer Laduma exclusive, doesn't see departures; he sees a missing piece – a predatory pair of strikers to inject new life into Bucs' attack.

"To be honest with you we need strikers. One or two deadly strikers. Yes, we have strikers in the team but they are not deadly. In defence now we are sorted but even if we defend well, if we see we are not scoring goals then we can't win games. Yes, defenders win you trophies but strikers win you games and those games add up to winning the league title.

"So, it all starts with the striking department and that's why I say we need one or two deadly strikers. Midfield just like the defence is doing well. The young players are doing very well in that department. I am also happy with the goalkeeping department. The guys are doing well there no matter who plays. What am worried about is the striking force," Motale told the Siya crew.

Motale paints a stark picture: a team defensively solid, yet offensively blunt. He champions the young midfielders' spark, praises the goalkeepers' resilience, but sees the striking department as a problem waiting to derail Bucs' title charge.

So, what's the solution? More firepower, not fewer flames, says Motale.

"In a striking force you don't need just two or three strikers. You need more. Four or five or even more. The more strikers you have the better the competition and the better the results. They should not release those two. They should keep them and add another two deadly ones to improve competition. We still need all the strikers we have," Motale concluded.

His message is clear: Bucs' attack needs teeth, not farewells. And with Motale's legendary experience and unyielding passion backing his call, Pirates fans might just witness a transfer window not of departures, but of arrivals – arrivals to set the team up for another trophy.
