With Jose Riveiro set for his last match as Orlando Pirates coach, former Bafana Bafana striker Benni McCarthy has been linked with the job and Soccer Laduma has an update.
McCarthy took charge of the Kenya national team earlier this year, but there has been talk of him possibly buying himself out of the contract he has to make a return to the PSL.

The 47-year-old McCarthy has previously been linked with the head coaching jobs at Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, but nothing materialised in the past. Pirates are in the market for a coach, while Nasreddine Nabi has been linked with an exit at Chiefs.
Soccer Laduma got in touch with a source who is confident that the former FC Porto striker will be head coach of the Kenyan national team in the long term, despite the recent rumours of an exit. The belief is that McCarthy is committed to the project in Kenya.
"The links of Benni McCarthy going to Orlando Pirates, that's just rumours. I was with Benni yesterday and he is very very happy in Kenya. These rumours about him leaving Harambee Stars have been circulating and they started in South Africa, not Kenya. He is happy and not leaving Harambee Stars," said a source close to the Harambee Stars in Kenya.
"We met after the U20 Kenya team arrived from Egypt and Benni was assessing their performance. Benni is committed to Kenya."

In previous interviews, McCarthy has not ruled out a return to the PSL after his stints with Cape Town City and AmaZulu, but it appears that he is focused on honouring his contract with Harambee Stars for now.
