Nedbank Cup Last 32 Report: Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila v Golden Arrows 05 February 2022

There was another upset in the Nedbank Cup as GladAfrica Championship side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila defeated Golden Arrows on penalties for a spot in the last 16.

Nedbank Cup Last 32

Result: Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 1-1 Golden Arrows (TTM won 7-6 on penalties)

Date: 05 February 2022

Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium

Abafana Bes'thende made three changes to the side that last played in the 2-2 draw against Swallows, as Nkosinathi Sibisi, Andile Fikizolo and Lindokuhle Mtshali were all recalled.

Arrows had a bright start as Mtshali came close to giving them the lead in the 14th minute with a header that came off the post after a cross by Siyavuya Ndlovu.

TTM absored the pressure and stayed compact at the back, while they managed to keep Arrows at bay, although they were not threatening at the other end.

Fikizolo had a chance to break the deadlock for Lehlohonolo Seema's charges just before the half-time break with a header in the box that was saved by goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda.

Here are the latest PSL deals to have taken place in the last few weeks:

While Arrows were not clinical enought in the second half, they made a double change in the 66th minute, as Siboniso Conco replaced Fikizolo in attack while Mthokozisi Dube replaced Ndlovu at right-back.

However, Vhadau Vha Damani broke the deadlock two minutes later after Tshepo Matete found the top corner with a header from Joshua Netshilindi's cross.

Arrows managed to respond in the last quarter of an hour, as Conco fired home a rebound after Pule Mmodi's shot was blocked in the box.

The game was there for the taking in the closing stages but neither side could get clear chances and extra-time was required after the sides were level pegging 1-1 in regulation time.

Lucky Nelukau's men were raising their hand in extra-time, as Naeem Amoojee had an early chance in the box with a strike that was saved by shot-stopper Nkosingiphile Gumede, who also denied Lebogang Mlangenyi.

However, the closing phase of extra-time was a slow-burner, with both sides cautious and they eventually went to penalty shoot-outs where TTM claimed a 7-6 win in sudden death after Mthokozisi Dube missed a decisive spot-kick for Arrows.

Here's how they started:
