Chippa United and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila are set to battle it out in the Nedbank Cup final this weekend. In light of this, we check out how the Chilli Boys compare to Vhadau Vha Damani in millions.
Both sides will put their relegation scrap aside on Saturday as they go head-to-head at the Free State Stadium, in what is a maiden cup final for both sides. Chippa United reached the final with a win over GladAfrica outfit Pretoria Callies in the semifinal, while TTM surprised defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, edging the Brazilians on penalties.
There's very little separating the two sides when it comes to their position on the DStv Premiership log, with a mere point separating 14th placed TTM from 15th placed Chippa. The same could be said for their respective market values, which boasts a striking similarity.
Chippa United have formed part of the PSL for the last nine years having gained promotion to the top flight in 2012, while TTM are in their first season as a top flight outfit, having bought the status of Bidvest Wits in June last year.
According to Transfermarkt, Vladislav Heric's Chippa United have a market value of €5.28m (±R91m), slightly edging coach Dylan Kerr's outfit's market value of €5.15m (±88.7m).
Chippa's most valuable player is on-loan Mamelodi Sundowns defender Nyiko Mobbie, who has a €500k (±R8.6m) market value, while for TTM, their tricky playmaker Thabo Rakhale, ranks as their most valuable player at €400k (±R6.8m).
With both sides looking to secure their first title in their history, the clash at the Free State Stadium is expected to deliver fireworks in what can be dubbed as the clash of the underdogs.
