Lorch Backed For Chiefs Move: 'A Different Dimension'

WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 26: Rui Patricio #1 of Al Ain FC shakes hands with Thembinkosi Lorch #4 of Wydad AC following the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 group G match
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Dominic Isaacs believes Thembinkosi Lorch would be an excellent addition to the Amakhosi midfield, despite growing complications in any potential deal, following foreign reports.
Isaacs addressed the situation surrounding the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder who returned from his loan spell from Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.
According to AfricaFoot and published by Sport Lesiteinfo, Chiefs have reportedly shown interest in the creative midfielder. Based on the foreign report, Isaacs spoke to Soccer Laduma about Amakhosi potentially signing Lorch.
Despite the various complications that could be involved in such a transfer from Sundowns to Chiefs, Isaacs is convinced that the Glamour Boys should pursue Lorch if the opportunity arises.
"I can say 'go for him'. He could be a good signing for Kaizer Chiefs. His experience and the way he plays could bring a different dimension to the Chiefs midfield. (Ox) Mthethwa and (Thabo) Cele could sit back and block the attack while Lorch would attack and create those chances and score goals as well. I think he can fit very well at Chiefs," Isaacs told the Siya crew.
Isaacs, who himself is a graduate of the School of Excellence, like Lorch, suggested that a move to Naturena could also benefit the Sundowns player personally, offering him a fresh start.
"This could be a new challenge for him. He could be looking at a team and place where he could be happy, appreciated and play. Going to Chiefs could be a good move for him. As long as he can be in his right mind, a move to Kaizer Chiefs would not be bad at all," Isaacs told Soccer Laduma.
Lorch joined Sundowns two seasons ago but spent the last campaign on loan at Wydad Casablanca. The Moroccan club's latest reported interest in making their arrangement with Lorch permanent adds another layer of complexity to the midfielder's future as the transfer window continues.
It remains to be seen if Lorch would be able to return to Morocco with Wydad, if he could alternatively gain interest from elsewhere abroad, stay at the Brazilians or find a new PSL club.
