Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Mpho Makola has admitted that he is 'tired' of seeing Mamelodi Sundowns win the Premiership title every season and has given clubs valuable advice on how taking care of their players can end the dominance of the Tshwane giants.
Sundowns have won eight Premiership titles in a row and are determined to bag a ninth, as they target an unprecented 10 consecutive crowns. Sundowns supporters, of course, are loving it and want to see the club victorious every season, despite leaving factions of the fraternity frustrated.

What could make it even harder for other clubs in the league is the fact that Sundowns have bagged close to R230 million from their participation at the FIFA Club World Cup and a big part of that money could be invested in bringing in new players for head coach Miguel Cardoso.
"I’m tired, to be honest. As a Betway ambassador, I attend games and when I watch Sundowns, I wonder when will other teams play like that. I am tired (of Sundowns winning the league) and I am sure even the players are tired,” Makola said to Soccer Laduma.
“But then again, the other teams will reach the level of Sundowns once they look after the players. At the end of the day, the players are the ones who are playing, not the coach or the owner or the supporters. When players are looked after, they will perform for you. There is so much talent in South Africa and you tell me all that talent goes to Sundowns? No ways. There’s talent, but they just need to be taken care of."

Makola went into detail to explain what looking after players looks like.
"Taking care of a player, I’ll give you an example. If you’ve got the resources, make sure the players get paid well. Make sure they have enough to make a living for them not to worry about external issues. Make sure the players look forward to coming to training. Create a great working environment. At Pirates, we would always look forward to coming to training and the gents would come knowing there was breakfast in the morning and that there’s a TV room and PlayStation. They created that homely environment and the players were able to focus on football.”
Makola's former club, Pirates, are seen as Sundowns' biggest threat to the title and they've beefed up their squad with the aim of dethroning the Tshwane giants. Only time will tell if the Soweto giants can finally end their dominance.
