Following their good showing at the FIFA Club World Cup, Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to complete the signing of another player from the Western Cape.
Despite being given an opportunity to sign new players with a special transfer window before the start of the Club World Cup, Sundowns opted against bringing any new faces, as they wanted to give the players who've been part of the process an opportunity to play at that level.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Sundowns have been leading the race to sign Stellenbosch FC vice-captain Fawaaz Basadien and indications are that the deal will be completed soon now that the Tshwane giants' campaign in the USA is over.
Indications are that Sundowns are preparing to offer a three-year deal for the 28-year-old and there will be options to extend it. Basadien has also attracted interest from Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, but Soccer Laduma understands that he is in favour of a move to the Tshwane giants.
It will be interesting to see how Basadien fits into the team at Sundowns, especially after Divine Lunga stood out as one of the club's top performers at the Club World Cup. Lunga kept Aubrey Modiba out of the team for all of Sundowns' group matches and will be determined to keep his place in the team once the new season starts.

Bringing in Basadien at left back could see Terrence Mashego heading the other direction. Sundowns are believed to have taken the one-year option in Mashego's deal and there's a good chance that he will be heading to Stellies.
Soccer Laduma contacted Sundowns for a comment, but there was no response at the time of publishing.
