Former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Thembalethu Moses has come out strongly against a viral social media post falsely claiming he made scathing remarks about current Brazilians and national team goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
The controversial quote, which surfaced on an unverified Facebook page, alleges that Moses criticised Williams for lacking consistency, claiming he “only shines when protected by a strong defence” and allegedly stating bluntly, “I don’t rate him high.”

The fabricated post even went as far as citing a fake interview, attributing comments that compared Williams unfavourably to former Bafana Bafana number one Itumeleng Khune.
But Moses, who has served as a goalkeeper coach at several clubs including Sekhukhune United, says he was blindsided by the post – and he’s not taking it lightly.
In an interview with the Siya crew, Moses expressed his outrage at that social media post and firmly distanced himself from the false claims.
“I don’t know this thing that’s being reported on that page and attributed to me, and I distance myself from it as I have never said any of the things that are in it,” he said.
“It would be great if the person who wrote such things about me can come forward and prove that they spoke to me and that I made those comments.”

He ended this interview with Soccer Laduma with a pointed reflection:
“Maybe this is another Thembalethu Moses? But the article talks about a goalkeeper coach and a former Sundowns goalkeeper – and that is me, as far as I am concerned.”
