After a brave showing by Mamelodi Sundowns at the FIFA Club World, special praise has been issued for a player who should be 'playing at the highest level'.
Sundowns exited the Club World Cup with their heads held high as a goalless draw against Fluminense in their last game of Group F was not enough to see them progress.
Posting four points on the board and finishing third should be encouraging for the Brazilians, as other African sides, Al Ahly packed their bags with only two points after ending bottom of Group A, Esperance exited with three points while Wydad Casablanca were out of the running with a game to spare in Group G.

Masandawana particularly caught the eye and won hearts with their performance against Borussia Dortmund, narrowly losing 4-3 and undone by uncharacteristic mistakes, including a glaring howler by goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
After it's all said and done, South African Kyle Timm, a coach at USL Championship side Lexington Sporting, when pressed to pick a player that is ready for European football in the Sundowns team, after following them in the tournament, could not hesitate to make his choice.
"If someone said to me you can have one player from Sundowns I'm taking (Khuliso) Mudau! That guy is good man, that's a top right back. He can defend, he can attack, he's calm on the ball, he's top," Timm told Soccer Laduma.

"Athletically he's got the pace, he's got technical ability. He's a close to complete right back in my opinion. I would love to see players like Mudau playing at the highest level.
"I've watched him for a few years, I don't even think there's another right back in South Africa that's even close to him (Mudau). Honestly, maybe I don't see enough of PSL but I haven't seen another right back that's even close, nowhere near (Mudau). That's a top player," Timm raved.
