Competition For Places Increases At Sundowns

Competition For Places Increases At Sundowns

A few of Mamelodi Sundowns' players could make a return to boost the side after the international break.

Sundowns have been in fine form this season and are well on their way to winning a fourth-straight Premiership title, which would make them the first club in Premier Soccer League history to do this. They also have an opportunity to become the first club to win the league title without losing a game.

Looking at the fact that they have some players who are likely to be back and feature in the team soon, Sundowns have a good chance of achieving both these feats.

Sibusiso Vilakazi, who has struggled with injury this season, is back and raring to go and will certainly be using the international break to prove to coaches he deserves more opportunities in the starting line-up.

South American striker Mauricio Affonso recently made his first appearance in a while for the club, coming on in a 4-0 victory over Polokwane City in the Nedbank Cup.

These players may have been on the books of Sundowns, but their return will no doubt make the technical team feel like they have new players in the team, to add to the quality they already have.

This will increase competition in the team and no doubt boost Sundowns as they try to win another treble, this time the DStv Premiership, CAF Champions League and Nedbank Cup.
