After more than a decade of loyal service to Orlando Pirates, Thabiso Monyane is closing one chapter of his football journey, but the road ahead appears promising.
At just 25 years old, the talented player is already attracting interest from several PSL clubs, with Sekhukhune United understood to be expressing firm interest, while Kaizer Chiefs have also been linked to the player in recent reports.

Monyane’s departure from the Buccaneers, announced recently, marks the end of a 13-year relationship that began when he was just 12-years-old.
Having risen through the ranks of the club’s development system, Monyane was promoted to the senior team in 2019 and went on to make over 90 appearances for the Soweto giants.
Despite persistent injury setbacks that hampered his ability to cement a regular starting berth, Monyane’s contributions were far from negligible.
During his time with Pirates’ first team, he lifted an impressive six trophies, four MTN8 titles and two Nedbank Cup crowns, demonstrating both resilience and quality when called upon.
Now a free agent, Monyane has the freedom to explore new opportunities, and it seems the interest is already lining up.
Sekhukhune are said to be keen on acquiring his services ahead of the 2025/26 season. The club, known for its ambitious recruitment strategy and strong defensive foundation, could offer Monyane the platform to regain form and rediscover the consistency that once earmarked him as one of South Africa’s brightest defensive prospects.

Meanwhile, a potential move to Kaizer Chiefs, a club currently in the midst of a squad overhaul, would not only keep Monyane in the spotlight but also add an extra layer of drama to Soweto Derby narratives.
Chiefs are in need of reinforcements at right-back, and Monyane’s age, experience, and PSL pedigree make him a logical target.
