Having narrowly escaped relegation on the final day of the season, a Gauteng outfit is now turning attention to squad reinforcement with a familiar face potentially making a surprise return.
News coming through from Matsatsantsa a Pitori is that the team is believed to be looking at signing one of their former players who had joined Mamelodi Sundowns.

Siya sources with direct access to SuperSport United's recruitment plans have indicated that they are apparently confident in re-signing winger Thapelo Maseko from Mamelodi Sundowns.
"SuperSport United wanted him initially on loan in January before they got Lebohang Maboe but things didn't work out that time. Now they are working on a permanent deal for Maseko and apparently it's believed that it's imminent," the Siya source told the Siya crew.
A well-placed Chloorkop insider with intimate knowledge of Sundowns' squad planning stated that Maseko didn't travel with Sundowns to the FIFA Club World Cup because he is believed to not be part of the Brazilians' future plans.
"You see those players who went to the USA for the FIFA Club World Cup are the core of Sundowns. Their contracts and future is safe. Thapelo Maseko was left behind so that he could finalise his move back to SuperSport United and now it's believed that the deal is imminent," the second insider revealed.

The 21-year-old who joined Sundowns in the 2023/24 season had a promising future while still at SuperSport United. Since he joined Sundowns he has featured in a fair amount of Betway Premiership games, and two seasons ago he was the Player of the Tournament in the African Football League which Sundowns won. Last season he was part of the Bafana Bafana squad which won Bronze at AFCON in Ivory Coast.
Soccer Laduma contacted SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews on the situation but there was no response at the time of compiling this story.
The potential return of Maseko to his former club could prove to be a shrewd piece of business for SuperSport, who will be hoping to avoid another relegation battle next season. For the player himself, with his international experience and proven quality, in SuperSport's colours, Maseko could quickly reestablish himself as a key figure at the club where he first made his name, providing the creative spark that was often missing during their difficult 2024/25 campaign.
