As Kaizer Chiefs look towards appointing a new head coach, the football community is abuzz with speculation about potential candidates. Among those mentioned is TS Galaxy's head coach, Sead Ramovic, who has garnered attention for his commendable performance with the Tim Sukazi-owned club.
Yet, not everyone is convinced that Ramovic is the right fit for the Soweto giants, known as the Glamour Boys. In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, former Kaizer Chiefs striker Katlego "Killer" Mphela shared his insights on the qualities needed in the next head coach to revive the club's winning culture.

Mphela, who has experienced the highs and lows of football both locally and internationally, expressed reservations about Ramovic's suitability for the role at Chiefs.
"Honestly speaking, I don't think so. I think he is a good coach who improves players but Chiefs right now need a winner. Someone who has won trophies and with experience so that he can come in and transform the winning mentality and culture into the players. So, for now, I don't think so. I don't think Ramovic will fit at Chiefs right now," Mphela told the Siya crew, emphasizing the need for a coach with a proven track record of success in South African football.
When asked about the potential candidacy of Alexandre Santos, and his former mentor, Pitso Mosimane, Mphela didn't hesitate to endorse Mosimane as the ideal choice to lead Chiefs back to their former glory.
"I still think Pitso can take Chiefs back to their former glory. He knows the South African football landscape very well. And he has coached in the PSL before which gives him an advantage over the other coaches. Seriously, for me I think they should fight as hard as they can to get Pitso. He will change the team for the better," Mphela told Soccer Laduma.
Mphela's perspective sheds light on the critical attributes required in Chiefs' search for a new head coach. With a legacy of success and a passionate fan base yearning for a return to the pinnacle of South African football, the decision on who will take the helm is more than just a tactical one; it's about instilling belief, ambition, and a culture of winning.
As speculation continues, the endorsement of a figure like Mosimane by a former player of Mphela's stature adds an intriguing dimension to the ongoing discussion about the future direction of Chiefs. The club's leadership faces a pivotal decision that could shape the trajectory of the team in the years to come.
