Chiefs were in pole position to land the Bidvest Wits academy graduate back in 2023, but a last-minute change of heart allowed AmaZulu to swoop in and secure his services. Now, two years later, Human is once again available, and crucially, at no transfer cost.
At 24, Human is entering his prime. His ability to link play, drive forward and contribute on both ends of the pitch makes him a highly appealing option for a Chiefs side desperate to restore attacking fluidity.
In the 2024/25 campaign, the stocky midfielder made 29 appearances in all competitions for Usuthu, registering three goals and five assists. His versatility and energy were evident throughout the season, even as AmaZulu struggled for consistency.
What makes the potential deal even more intriguing is the minimal financial risk involved. Chiefs have already been criticised in recent transfer windows for splashing out on signings who have failed to deliver. A proven PSL performer like Human, who won’t cost the club a fee, could be a shrewd piece of business.
Whether Amakhosi choose to reignite their interest remains to be seen, but with the squad currently undergoing a rebuild and space in midfield up for grabs, Chiefs may well be tempted to go back in for a player who was once within arm’s reach.
