Kaizer Chiefs confirmed the exit of a talented striker from the club yesterday, revealing the reasons why it was decided that it would be best for him to move on for now…
Sizwe Twala, 22, was announced as Swallows FC's latest signing on Tuesday afternoon as the Dube Birds look to bolster their ranks in order to push for promotion, with the forward joining Amakhosi teammates, Given Thibedi, Itumeleng Shopane and Ayanda Rorwana at the club.
Twala made the bench on a couple of occasions this season under Ernst Middendorp having impressed enough to take the step up to the senior side, but with the likes of Samir Nurkovic and Leonardo Castro firing on all cylinders, it always looked unlikely that he would secure regular game-time at Naturena in 2019/20.
While the club has not stated whether the youngster's move to Swallows is on a loan basis, it is thought that he will be back at Chiefs ahead of the 2020/21 season, with the club explaining that he 'has been released in order for him to gain valuable game-time which will further aid his development'.
Swallows are currently fourth in the GladAfrica Championship having picked up some good form of late, and Brandon Truter will be hoping that Twala can get among the goals as soon as possible as they make a push to try and return to the Absa Premiership next season.
