The story
Bafana Bafana winger Mohau Nkota has returned to Mzansi after completing his first pre-season with his new club, Al-Ettifaq.
Making the most of his visit back home, Nkota linked up with his representatives at P Management to secure some fresh new Nike boots, with hopes of instantly hitting the ground running in the Saudi Pro League in his new Mercurials.
During his visit, Nkota also took time to reconnect with his former club by visiting Es'godini for Orlando Pirates' opening Betway Premiership match against Sekhukhune United, which ended in a 1-0 win to Babina Noko.
The fleet-footed winger went beyond embracing fans at Orlando Stadium and linking up with Kaizer Chiefs' Mfundo Vilakazi, he also showed love to his Pirates family during a heartfelt moment on Metro FM's Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube.
The winger expressed his continued admiration for the Buccaneers, and took time to thank the team's chairman, Dr. Irvin Khoza, his former teammates, coaches and the fans for their support during his time at the club.
Nkota will be buzzing to get the 2025/26 season underway after Al-Ettifaq concluded their pre-season in Spain with a 1-1 draw against Cadiz. The Saudi Pro League season for Nkota and Ettifaq is expected to kick off on 21 September 2025 against Al-Batin.
