The story
Masandawana received plenty of support from Florida, Mzansi, to Brazil as they secured a crucial 1-0 victory over South Korea's Ulsan HD in their opening match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup (CWC), thanks to a first-half goal from sharp-shooter Iqraam Rayners.
Lucas Ribeiro Costa translated his Betway Premiership form to the big stage after a scintillating performance, where he set up Rayners for his goal, and another disallowed finish.
Costa's connection with Rayners was celebrated in Santa Helena, Brazil, Ribeiro's hometown in the Maranhão region of Northeast Brazil.
Ribeiro, who has proudly represented his humble roots in Santa Helena, reshared a video on Instagram of his community watching him perform for Downs in the CWC from a projected big screen.

The win, earned in a weather-delayed clash at Inter & Co Stadium in Orlando, marked Sundowns' first-ever Club World Cup triumph and the first win for an African team in the revamped 32-team tournament.
The result also put the recent CAF Champions League runners-up at the top of Group F, following a goalless draw between Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense.
Downs dominated their South Korean opponents both on and off the pitch as the Yellow Nation carried the atmosphere at Orlando City's home turf.
