The story

Orlando Pirates' season finale and the last game for captain Innocent Maela at the club ended in a 1-1 draw with Magesi FC on Wednesday night.

Maela received a standing ovation from Buccaneers fans as he was substituted in the 66th minute during their 1-1 draw against Magesi FC at Orlando Stadium.

Among those in attendance were his family, wife and SuperSport TV presenter Zenande Funani, and close friends, Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau and retired fullback Tsepo Masilela.

With his contract set to expire in June, widespread reports suggest that the 32-year-old is likely to retire from professional football. It is believed that Maela has been offered a new role within the club's structures.
