The story
Lucky Lekgwathi made his big screen debut in a local film, "Soccer Season: Playmaker", which is a Netflix production.
As per Netflix, this is the first film in the "Soccer Season" trilogy and is based on books by Jayne Bauling.
The film's synopsis reveals that "Soccer Season" is centred around a shy but talented soccer player named Lunga, who has to navigate bullying and family pressures on his way to becoming a star for the fictional club, Soweto Kickers.
Lekgwathi makes a brief cameo in the film and plays a football legend who is donating kits to the Soweto Kickers team after one of the team members reached out for donations.
The ex-Buccaneers defensive hardman, turned entrepreneur, and maybe now an actor, shared his magic moment on screen in a series of IG story posts, urging his followers to give the movie a go.
