AmaZulu shot-stopper Veli Mothwa may be a reserve keeper in the Bafana set-up, but his role in the side is as important as anything. 

Like the natural leader he is, Mothwa is at the forefront when it comes to cheering on his teammates as well as leading them in song and goal celebrations.

Veli Mothwa's off-field role with Bafana

Although it's quite likely that Veli Mothwa won't see any game time for South Africa at this year's AFCON, his role in the team cannot be understated.

From the energy he brings to the camp, positive relationship with his teammates and the passion he has for the game, Mothwa the ideal figure to help keep Bafana motivated.

The 32-year-old captains AmaZulu and his leadership sees him supporting the ones who are playing, leading in songs where he can and being a general good presence around the dressing room.

Mothwa has eight Bafana Bafana caps to his name and incredibly, is yet to concede a goal!
