The most popular club in Ivory Coast is going through turbulent times, with results currently not going their way and pressure mounting on the technical team, players and management.
Only last week, Jean Marie Assoumou was sacked as the club's coach and has been replaced by Siaka Traore, who was the team's assistant and is a former head coach of the team as well.
For a team that has won the domestic league title 24 times since 1963, this season has been one characterised by underperformance – Mimosas have only won one, drawn eight and lost three games in Ligue 1 so far and are in 10th position on the log.
The club's fans are certainly not happy and have gone as far as voicing their displeasure about the quality of the team's players on social media. Some have even called for the removal of club president Roger Ouegnin!
The club recently posted a poll on their website asking their fans whether they think the Ivorian giants can overcome the Amakhosi at FNB Stadium.
The results at the time of writing were as follows: yes – 22%, maybe – 15%, no – 61%, no opinion – 3%.
That pretty much sums up the current sentiment at the club. The two teams will clash at the FNB Stadium this evening, with the game scheduled for 19h30.
