Phil Masinga Wants Sundowns To Perform Better Away From Home

Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Phil Masinga, has urged his former team to improve their performances in the CAF Champions League, especially away from home.

'Downs Edge Chicken Inn To Secure CCL Progression

Pitso Mosimane's men managed a 2-0 win over Zimbabwean outfit, Chicken Inn to qualify for the next round of the competition this weekend, courtesy of a late Katlego Mashego penalty. However, 'Chippa' believes that The Brazilians need to improve in their matches away from home if they hope to progress into the latter stages of this season's tournament.

"It's good that they have qualified for the next round but they need to improve on their performance in Africa mainly when playing away," he told the Siya crew.

The 46-year-old added that Sundowns need to make sure that they score goals away from home in order to make the home matches easier for themselves.

"They need to score goals away and make sure that they keep a clean sheet so that when they come home they can just finish off. But it's good to still be in the competition at this time," the Bafana Bafana legend concluded.

Player Ratings: Sundowns v Chicken Inn
