Pitso Mosimane's side left it late against a stubborn Chicken Inn side that looked to have earned a penalty shootout against Masandawana, with Khama Billiat winning a last-minute penalty that was slotted away by Katlego Mashego.
Now, following the 2-1 aggregate win over the Zimbabwean champions, Sundowns will now have to face their Congolese counterparts in the first round of the CCL as they look to progress even further.
Leopards managed to avoid the preliminary stages of the tournament due to their previous achievements in CAF competition, with the Congolese side winning the Confederation Cup back in 2012.
The first leg of the clash between Sundowns and Leopards will take place on the weekend of the 11th – 13th of March in South Africa, with the second leg in Dolisie to be played one week later.
Leopards are unbeaten in their last 12 games in all competitions and have won eight of their last nine games, conceding only five goals in 2016 so far, scoring 25.
