The Amakhosi won their tie over the Comorian champions 7-0 on aggregate after they failed to arrive for the second leg at Moses Mabhida Stadium yesterday, while ASEC drew 0-0 in Chad to win 1-0 on aggregate against AS CotonTchad.
Steve Komphela's side will now take on the 1998 CCL winners in the first round of the competition as they look to take one step closer to reaching the group stages for the first time.
Volcan are likely to be handed a two-year ban from participating in CAF competition following their failure to turn up for the game, while Chiefs will be happy that their players have had one game struck from their busy schedule.
Chiefs' next opponents, ASEC, currently find themselves in 10th place on the Ivorian Ligue 1 table after seven games, with the reigning champions struggling in front of goal so far this season.
The first leg of the Chiefs v ASEC tie will be played in South Africa on the weekend of the 11th – 13th of March, with the return leg in the Ivory Coast to take place the weekend after.
