Kaizer Chiefs Respond To ASEC Mimosas Defeat

Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs have released a statement to fans, following Saturday's loss in the CAF Champions League against ASEC Mimosas.

Steve Komphela's side suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Ivorian counterparts and also fell to their third straight defeat in all competitions.

The statement read: The events that occurred on Saturday evening at the FNB stadium are unfortunate.

We understand and sympathise with our supporters venting their discontent given the loss of three consecutive matches, including the one that we were not supposed to lose on Saturday evening. This understandably led to all of us being frustrated and unhappy.

We understand the dissatisfaction but we appeal for patience and calm instead of demoralising the team and worsening the situation.

We acknowledge that we are going through a tough spell. The team is not performing optimally, but this is the time when we need the supporters to come together and uplift our troops.

The technical team and the players are equally saddened and concerned with the recent performances. We are all doing everything possible to get the team to its normal state.

We have experienced this misfortune in the past and we will do our best to get back to winning ways. We appeal once more to our supporters to rally behind us, stick with us and together we shall overcome.

We are in this together.

We are very sorry for the poor state of the team's performance and the results lately.
