Former Kaizer Chiefs Coach Ted Dumitru Says The Glamour Boys Have Become Predictable

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach, Ted Dumitru, believes that the Glamour Boys' style of play has become predictable, ahead of their CAF Champions League tie against ASEC Mimosas.

Speaking in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 964, the former Bafana Bafana coach, spoke on the difficulties facing current Chiefs coach, Steve Komphela.

"It is difficult, especially if the team becomes a target. At the moment, Steve is a bit fortunate, because they are not on top of the log, so they are not a target of the other teams.

"If you are on top, the other teams say, "It's do or die!" I think it's obvious to everybody that they need more quality players. Chiefs are predictable at the moment," Dumitru told Soccer Laduma.

The Naturena-based outfit are currently undergoing somewhat of a crisis at the club, having lost four games in a row, across all competitions. Their last recorded victory was against Volcan Club, when the Comoros-based minnows failed to pitch at the FNB Stadium, forcing a walk-over and securing Amakhosi's passage to the next round.

Dumitru highlighted that the Soweto giants need to make more quality acquisitions in the transfer market.

"They need more creative players, those who will create things and will give the opposition a hard time. At the moment, crossing and long balls are easy things to deal with by more advanced defences, Dumitru added.

Chiefs come up against the Ivorian football giants, this weekend in the second-leg of their Champions League encounter, having lost the home game 1-0 at the FNB Stadium.
