The Buccaneers are responsible for opening the second spot in the competition after reaching the final of the tournament in 2013 and now he hopes that his PSL rivals, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, will be successful in this season's tournament so that a third spot can open up in the competition.
"It is not great that our name isn't in CAF right now, but it feels good knowing that our performance has opened the door for other teams," he told the Siya crew after this weekend's 1-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic.
"We opened two spots so we want the teams to do well and maybe we can have a 3rd spot in the future."
The former Bafana Bafana midfielder added that he hopes that his team will return to win the competition again, after their win in 1995.
"We want our teams to do well in CAF but we prefer they wait for us to win the second star first before they can get their own," the 45-year-old concluded.
