CAF Champions League Report: ASEC 0-0 Kaizer Chiefs 20 March 2016

CAF Champions League Result: ASEC 0-0 (1-0 agg) Kaizer Chiefs Date: 20 March 2016 Venue: Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny Kaizer Chiefs were knocked out of the CAF Champions League by ASEC Mimosas 1-0 on aggregate after a goalless draw in the second leg on Sunday. In the early stages of the game the hosts put pressure on the Amakhosi, and Yannick came within inches of giving his side the lead when his shot went wide. Mimosas continued turning the screws and on this occasion Bakayoko's attempt at goal shaved the post to the great relief of goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune. The Bafana Bafana shotstopper was called upon to keep his side in the tie when Bakayoko managed to direct a header on target, and he did so with aplomb as he denied the ASEC man from close range.
Khune had more work to do in the second half as he renewed his rivalry with Bakayako, keeping him out after he dribbled through the Chiefs defence. Sula Matovu had a late chance to push the tie into extra time, but his headed effort went over the bar as Mimosas progressed.
Here's how they lined up: Chiefs: 12 Khune, 18 Moleko, 3 Mathoho, 26 Gordinho, 24 Masilela, 14 Tshabalala, 8 Katsande, 11 Maluleka, 13 Baloyi, 25 Parker, 9 Abraw
