The race for the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award will heat up next week, as the top five contenders get back into action.
Domestic football will make its return to our screens on August 08, with the Nedbank Cup semi-finals raising the curtain on an exciting few weeks ahead.
The Absa Premiership campaign will resume action on August 11 and while the fight for the league title will take centre-stage, the attention will also be on individual performances as the Golden Boot award is still up for grabs.
But who are the marksmen leading the charts?
1. Gabadinho Mhango
Orlando Pirates' Mhango currently tops the charts after he scored an impressive 14 league goals over 21 appearances for the Soweto side so far this season.
The 27-year-old Malawian international will be eager to reignite his goalscoring form and will be even more confident to do so against Mamelodi Sundowns after he already broke the Brazilians' hearts earlier this season.
Mhango has seven games left to increase his lead at the top of the standings. Pirates will face off with Sundowns, Bidvest Wits, Baroka FC, Cape Town City, SuperSport United, Maritzburg United and Stellenbosch FC in their remaining fixtures.
2. Bradley Grobler
SuperSport United's Bradley Grobler is tied in second place with two other contenders. The 32-year-old striker has scored 12 league goals in 21 appearances.
Matsatsantsa currently has six remaining Absa Premiership fixtures and Grobler's goalscoring prowess will be key in their fight for a potential CAF Champions League or CAF Confederations Cup spot.
3. Peter Shalulile
The second player on 12 goals this season is Highlands Park's Peter Shalulile. The Namibian has been their most standout performer so far this season and if he continues hitting the back of the net, he could help the Lions of the North seal a top-eight spot in their remaining six league fixtures.
4. Bonginkosi Ntuli
AmaZulu FC's Bonginkosi Ntuli completes the trio of players joined on 12 league goals.
The 29-year-old will be eager to pick up exactly where he left off this season when he scored in a crucial 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs before the lockdown.
5. Samir Nurkovic and Knox Mutizwa
Kaizer Chiefs' Samir Nurkovic and Golden Arrows' Knox Mutizwa are joined in the fifth spot after they've both tallied 11 goals each.
Nurkovic will be eyeing the Golden Boot to go with the league title this season, while Mutizwa will be crucial in Arrows securing a top-eight spot.
