There are just four days left to go before teams put on their game faces and battle it out for the R7 million prize money.
The Nedbank Cup semi-finals will get underway this weekend, kicking off an action packed few weeks as domestic football finally makes its return after a four-month hiatus.
A double-header will take place at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday, August 11, where Baroka FC will lock horns with Bloemfontein Celtic and Mamelodi Sundowns will thereafter face off with Bidvest Wits.
But which of the above teams have had the best form going into this weekend's fixtures?
Mamelodi Sundowns:
Sundowns are arguably the favourites to go all the way to the final based on their current form this season. Head Coach Pitso Mosimane's side has already secured the Telkom Knockout trophy and are in second place on the Absa Premiership league standings. With a domestic treble still on the cards, the football fraternity can expect the Brazilians to go all out this weekend to book their spot in the final.
Bidvest Wits:
Wits have been one of the top teams in the 2019/20 campaign and following the news of the club's sale, the Students could look to end the season with a bang. The Braamfontein outfit is still mathematically in the Absa Premiership race and while they could be discounted as favourites for the title, Head Coach Gavin Hunt's side is no stranger to cup finals. With that being said, there is yet to be a winner in a showdown between Sundowns and Wits this season.
Baroka FC:
Baroka have been struggling to find their form this season and are currently floating in the danger zone on the Absa Premiership standings. While they may want to focus all their attention on surviving the relegation drop, they are also familiar with reaching a cup final despite a challenging season.
Bloemfontein Celtic:
Celtic have undergone managerial changes during the football break and they could be the most unpredictable team going into this weekend's clash. However, Siwelele, who are currently ninth on the Absa Premiership league standings, are yet to lose to the Limpopo-based side this season.
