The hype surrounding the league encounter between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns continued to increase as the days drew closer. The excitement amongst the supporters was at an ultimate high, however, on the day of the much-anticipated encounter, the crowd was left with a game that lacked goals but was not short of drama.

Here is what some of the supporters had to say about the match between the two sides…

"It was a game of the two halves. Both sides were attacking, and I was so surprised to see Moleko playing so well in the absence of Molangoane, after coming from a long-term injury. It shows there's quality in that Chiefs team now, I hope they will take this performance to the next level." - Submitted by: tebogo gm mahlaba

"Pitso adopted Komphela's tactics in yesterday's match hence the lack of goalscoring opportunities. Clearly, Pitso didn't want to be caught twice on the counter like he was caught in the first league encounter against Chiefs that resulted in them losing the game 2:1. Well, I don't blame Pitso, you know why? It is simply because he's sitting pretty on top of the table with a 5-point gap so why risk being caught on the counter and lose the game when u could just give your opponent the taste of their own medicine by adopting their own 'bus parking tactics'? I just feel sorry for those supporters who filled up FNB stadium just to witness two bulls weighing each other up the whole night rather than locking horns." - Submitted by: majenz

"To be honest, the match turned out the way I expected, I knew Komphela would park a bus and I knew Pitso would attack with long balls to break the bus, but he made sure he had enough numbers in defence to avoid being caught with counter-attacks – that's why he played Manyisa, Kekana and Mabunda at the same time. The atmosphere at the stadium was electrifying even though the match didn't live up to expectations." - Submitted by: kdowns

"Not a game I anticipated. Both teams feared to lose. They could not attack all out. It was just a mild game." - Submitted by: JamieM

From the reactions above, it can be seen that the spectators were not impressed with the tactics implemented by head coaches, Steve Komphela and Pitso Mosimane.
