After netting a brace against Sassuolo over the weekend, Ronaldo was handed another start against Valencia on Wednesday evening.
However, the Portuguese's evening was cut short when he was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident with Los Che defender Jeison Murrillo, and the Bianconeri coach feels the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system could have helped.
"I can only say that VAR would've helped the referee in this decision," Allegri was quoted as saying by Football Italia.
"Going down to 10 men in the Champions League for an incident like that is disappointing. We risked losing tonight with this and we'll miss him for the next games too."
