The Egyptian giants head into the second leg of their continental final against Masandawana with a significant advantage after Walid El Karti scored a 93rd-minute equaliser in the first leg at Loftus Versfeld.
Now Krunoslav Jurcic’s charges return to the 30 June Stadium with an away-goal advantage and could become only the fourth Egyptian side to win the Champions League, after Ismaily, Al Ahly, and Zamalek.
Despite their apparent edge, Al Ahly legend Adel Abdelrahman has urged the Croat to keep his composure against Miguel Cardoso.
"The Pyramids coach must remain calm in the second leg, because the match will be based on small details, and any rush could cost the team dearly,” the former goalkeeper said on MBC Masr.
"Sundowns this season is one of the best teams to have played in the CAF Champions League, and this was clearly evident in their performance away from home, particularly against Al Ahly in the semi-finals.
"I expect Sundowns to approach the second leg with great defensive caution and will seek to play on the counterattack, which will give Pyramids a golden opportunity to apply pressure, control the game, and secure victory.

"Pyramids are on the cusp of a historic continental title. If they succeed in winning the match, it will be their first continental title, in addition to securing qualification for the Club World Cup, an unprecedented achievement in the club's history."
