Serie A
Teams: Frosinone 0-2 Juventus
Date: 23 September 2018
Venue: Stadio Benito Stirpe
Cristiano Ronaldo scored for the second Serie A game in a row as Juventus maintained their winning start to the season with a 2-0 victory over Frosinone.
Ronado was included in the line-up once again, looking to put his red card in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday behind him.
The Portuguese was in the thick of things in the first half, as he had two efforts at goal, one of which was cleared off the line while the other was tipped away by goalkeeper Marco Sportielo.
Daniele Rugani went close to putting the visitors ahead after 31 minutes with an acrobatic effort from close range that sailed inches over the crossbar.
Frosinone did see a bit more of the ball towards the end of the first half, but they were unable to trouble the Juventus defence as the sides went into the break all square.
Juve should have gone ahead in the 58th minute when Federico Bernardeschi set up Ronaldo in the box, but the Portuguese somehow ballooned his effort over the crossbar from six-yards out.
Ronaldo's frustrating evening continued as the Portuguese squandered another chance in the 64th minute after failing to head past Sportiello from close range.
The perseverance eventually paid off in the 81st minute as Ronaldo calmly slotted past Sportiello from close range after Miralem Pjanic's effort was blocked.
The Old Lady rounded off the scoring in second half stoppage time as Bernardeschi collected a cross from Pjanic before firing home at the near post.
