With a Juventus star having been sent off for spitting on another player's face on Sunday afternoon, boss Massimiliano Allegri has now criticised the footballer, while the player himself has also addressed the situation.

The Italian manager has made it clear he is not happy with Douglas Costa for spitting in Federico Di Francesco's face late in the second half of the Bianconeri's 2-1 win over Sassuolo, saying things like this should not take place in football.
"Maybe he was irritated at a foul before, but it doesn't matter, because these things should absolutely not happen," Allegri said, according to AFP.
"The one thing we must avoid is rising to provocation."
Following the red card, Costa took to Instagram to apologise for his actions.
"I would like to apologise to all the Juventus fans for my wrong reaction during today's game," he wrote on Instagram.
"I also apologise to my teammates, who are always by my side, in good and bad times. It was ugly, I am aware of that and I apologise to everyone for that.
"I want to make clear that this isolated conduct has nothing to do with what I've shown throughout my career."

The straight red card means that Costa will face a minimum of three games out, but his punishment could be extended to five games.
