AC Milan News: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Sets Incredible Personal Record

With his brace in AC Milan's 2-0 Serie A win over Cagliari on Monday night, the ageless Zlatan Ibrahimovic set a remarkable personal goalscoring record.

The Swede was on hand to score twice for league leaders Milan to help send them three points clear of second-placed Inter Milan at the top of the table.

Ibrahimovic, who turns 40 this year, has now scored 12 goals in just eight Serie A matches this season, tied with Romelu Lukaku on league strikes despite making less than half the appearances the Belgian has made.

In addition, the Rossoneri forward has now found the back of the net in nine consecutive league matches in a top-five division for the first time in his senior career, according to Goal.

The former Paris Saint-Germain captain also matched a Milan record set by Marco van Basten in the 1992/93 season with his 12 goals in eight Serie A matches.

Across all competitions, Ibrahimovic has scored 13 times in as many matches this season, and also assisted a further two strikes.
