The Portuguese has scored 55 goals in 126 games for Portugal and is the country's leading all-time scorer.
However, if we look at his goals-per-game ratio, he "only" scores a goal every 0.44 games, and we have found nine current stars who outscore the 30-year-old at international level.
Neymar is currently leading the list, scoring 0.69 goals on average for Brazil, but his ratio is still far from the most clinical scorers in history.
Danish legend Poul Nielsen scored 52 goals in just 38 national team games, at a goals average of 1.37 per match.
Germany striker Gerd Muller averaged 1.09 goals per game, while Hungary's Ferenc Puskas netted 0.99 strikes per match.
Here are the top active international goals-per-game strikers:
1) Neymar: 67 games, 46 goals – 0.69 ratio
2) Edin Dzeko: 74 games, 44 goals – 0.59 ratio
3) Luis Suarez: 79 games, 44 goals – 0.56 ratio
