Report: Real Madrid Planning To Replace 'BBC' With New Attacking Trio

Report: Real Madrid Planning To Replace 'BBC' With New Attacking Trio

Real Madrid have reportedly identified a new attacking trio to replace Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, who have scored only 12 LaLiga goals between them so far this season.

Click through the mini-gallery above to see Europe's top six attacking trios, as per Transfermarkt.

Los Blancos' "BBC" trident has hardly been together on the pitch over the past two seasons, and club president Florentino Perez is understood to be preparing for a new era, according to Marca.

Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema have scored only 30 goals between them in all competitions this season, which is less than half the tally belonging to Europe's leading trio, comprising Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, who have netted 65 times for Paris Saint-Germain already.

It has been claimed that Perez wants to take Neymar, Eden Hazard and Robert Lewandowski to the Santiago Bernabeu, with Real having not signed a "Galactico" since Bale's arrival in 2013.

Although it sounds unthinkable that all three could arrive in the same window, it would not be the first time Perez splashed the cash on several new superstars, having done so on Kaka, Ronaldo and Benzema in 2009.

Although it would not be easy to prise Neymar away from Paris Saint-Germain just one year after his €222 million (R3.3 billion) world record transfer, he is understood to be Real's main target.

Hazard is a personal favourite of Zidane's, while Lewandowski has long been admired by Perez. Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi and Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane have also been mentioned as alternatives to complete Real's new attacking trio.
