The 29-year-old, who was also named Portugal's best ever player last night, won the award by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) for the second consecutive year.
Ronaldo tops the IFFHS ranking, that counts goals scored by players for their clubs in continental cup competitions, as well as for their national teams.
The 2014 FIFA Ballon d'Or winner scored a total of 20 goals in these tournaments and matches - with Ronaldo bagging 13 Champions League goals, two European Super Cup strikes as well as five goals for Portugal in the last calendar year.
The Portuguese finished ahead of Neymar (19), Lionel Messi (18) and Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan (18).
Ronaldo won the award in 2013 with 25 goals, and joined Messi, who won it in 2011 and 2012, as the only players to win the accolade in successive years.
