Over the weekend, reports emerged that the English forward is on the verge of completing a loan move to the Camp Nou.
The Manchester native has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford following the arrival of new manager Ruben Amorim. Shortly after the Portuguese tactician took charge, Rashford was loaned to Aston Villa, where he enjoyed a promising spell. However, the Villans’ failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League reportedly made a permanent deal financially unviable.
Barcelona had been long-time admirers of the 27-year-old and were previously linked with him before his Villa stint. Now, the reigning LALIGA champions are finally set to land their man and are expected to cover the entirety of his £300,000-per-week (R7.1 million) wages during his stay in Spain.
United have lost several high-profile players in recent years, including their record signing, Pogba. The Frenchman is now poised to return to football after serving an 18-month ban and recently signed for Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
Speaking on a live stream about Rashford’s looming transfer, as per Football Espana, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner didn’t hold back in his assessment, stating; “This is a crazy situation. But, I‘m happy for him because they took away his number in Manchester.”
“Manchester United are losing a great player. Unlucky for them.

“It’s great for Barcelona to be honest. I’m not even talking about United, because they’ve bought a few new players and the new manager wants to do his thing I guess.”
